Pool Maintenance

To ensure you have a clean and safe pool to swim in, make sure you thoroughly clean your pool each week. Below are some steps you should be taking.

1. Take a long handled leaf skimmer to pick up all the leaves, bugs and any other stuff that is floating on the surface. Getting it before it sinks to the bottom can make your job easier.

2. Scrub the sides and bottom of the pool with a brush to remove any dirt that may have collected there. If you brush everything together at one spot it will be easier to vacuum it up.

3. Before you turn on your vacuum, be sure to submerge the vacuums head and hose into the water.

4. Be sure you clean out the pool’s skimmer at least a minimum of once a week. Don’t let to much stuff collect in there.

5. The pump, pump strainer, drains, skimmer and filter all work together as the pools circulation system. You should run your pump long enough each day to be sure the water is properly filtered and kept clean.

6. Maintain your filter according to the filter manufacturers recommendations.

7. Test your pool water daily or weekly depending on how much use it gets, add chemicals if needed. Giving it a shock treatment cleans the water of algae, dirt and bacteria so you have water that is safe to swim in.
